Due to the concern of public health safety, Childersburg Municipal Court has been postponed until further notice.



The City of Childersburg will provide normal garbage service for the week of March 16th, 2020. Beginning Monday, March 23rd, 2020 garbage service will be as follows:

Monday/Thursday Routes will be Monday.

Tuesday/Friday Routes will be Tuesday.

Wednesday Route will remain the same.

Recycling will be normal day.

Thursday and Friday will be designated for other Street Department functions.


The implementation of this schedule will remain in effect until further notice. The City of Childersburg appreciates your patience and understanding.




City of Childersburg will temporarily suspend non-essential services beginning Thursday, March 19th, 2020 until further notice. This will include the RS Limbaugh Community Center and Rainwater Library. The Shoemaker Senior Center will not have daily group activities. As information is provided by East Alabama Planning Commission, we will advise how transportation services will be affected. The Childersburg Municipal Court proceedings have been suspended by the Alabama Supreme Court for the next thirty days. At this time, all other City services will continue. These actions are being implemented to protect the public health of our community. We will continue to monitor and review announcements from the State of Alabama, Alabama Department of Public Health, and the Centers of Disease Control. City of Childersburg will share any updates received.

The Alabama Department of Public Health has set up a hotline for people who are concerned about whether they need to be tested and where testing is available.

Planning Commission meets 1st Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall

Historic Preservation Commission meets second and fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall

Commercial Development meets second Wednesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. at City Hall.
